Several friends suggested that Heather write about her father’s clandestine playboy lifestyle. Heather didn't know much about her absentee father’s lifestyle, but she knew her own. 
A public library sponsored a seminar on “Writing Your Memoir” in July 2018. That was the beginning, the inspiration needed to gain momentum to write about her experiences. From that seminar a small group formed to guide, support, and hold participants accountable to continue. Their recent collaboration resulted in “Tales From A Writers’ Circle” released in May 2023. 
She has transitioned from writing factual reports on the real estate industry to writing creative nonfiction and flash fiction. Her short stories "Night Jogging" and "Self Portrait" are included in "50 Give or Take" released November 2023. Several more stories were released in November 2024 including "Running With Knives", creative nonfiction.
