About the author
Silvano Stagni is a multilingual citizen of the world, a father of four, and a cosmopolitan character with a long and varied life. He started writing during his professional life as an expert in banking regulations. His articles, white papers, and training manuals were successful because he used storytelling to explain banking regulations and how to implement them. He was a successful consultant, public speaker, and lecturer in English, Italian, German, and French. He was one of the leading experts in financial regulation in the City of London. Now he writes fiction.
In his youth, he was blessed to have many storytellers, people from different cultures and walks of life. He heard stories from the Imperial Court in Vienna, from the Kenyan bush, from seafarers, from survivors, and from fighters. He now writes historical fiction set in Venice. Most fixed characters in his two series of Rachele Modiano Mendes investigations are based on people he met in real life during his childhood and teen years. The crime part of his stories is a product of his imagination, but he draws heavily on family anecdotes and personal memories for the backstories of the fixed characters. Now London is his home; his heart is divided between Venice and London; his life has touched other cities in Italy, Israel, the United States, Kenya, and other places around the world.
